Linking student visits to museum or gallery talks and special events...
Some art museums and galleries organise talks and special events as part of their exhibition schedules. University art museums can provide talks by academic experts. It may be possible to link a visit to an exhibition with an opportunity to hear an expert provide a talk or question and answer session. Flinders University Art Museum encourages educational activities, and here is a website link - http://www.flinders.edu.au/artmuseum/news-and-events.cfm

Art making in museums and galleries...
The Art Gallery of South Australia is one of many public art museums or galleries to provide opportunities for children or young adults to participate in art making activities, and these art sessions can be linked to specific exhibitions. Parents and teachers can now begin to investigate these sessions by searching the internet. Student exhibitions...
Student involvement in exhibition preparation can include the development of exhibition advertising or associated promotional activities, exhibition catalogues and exhibition signage. Writing and evaluation activities could be undertaken by students on an individual basis, or within student study groups, thereby permitting negotiation and team planning activities.
Student exhibitions...
Students can learn to evaluate art exhibitions by participating in the development of exhibitions of their own work. They will have to consider the reasons for the development of a display, such as a special occasion or the presentation of work that examines a special topic or theme. They will also need to consider the importance of the exhibition venue and target audience for the exhibition.
